This is my build so far, I got a case and i5 7600k from my buddy for $115 because he upgraded

I don't plan on overclocking; this rig will just be used for casual 1080p gaming until I have to sell it off. I sold an old computer for $360 and it gave me the money to buy a lot of these parts (they were cheaper a few days ago, prices went back up)

I have all the parts ordered so if you have bad news, say it in the nicest way possible lol :) All together, I've spent $558 so far.

Anyways, I am looking for a CPU cooler for less than 30 dollars, I had my eyes on : https://www.amazon.com/darkFlash-Aluminum-Addressable-Motherboard-Control/dp/B07FNH5Z8Y/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1540588923&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=cpu+cooler&psc=1

but I have a bad feeling about it because it has barely any reviews. Please leave some good suggestions for > $30.

Thanks

You could get a Z270 motherboard off eBay and a decent cooler to get more bang for your buck with that i5

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

Gamaxx 400 and Hyper 212 should both come in at less than that

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

That's just a trash-heap block of aluminum with a crappy RGB fan on it. Get yourself something like a Deepcool Gammaxx 400 or a Cryorig M9i. It'll cost less and perform much better (i.e., be quieter).

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

sure, thats a hyper 212 with an extra fan. generally not worth the extra little bit it costs but it does also perform a bit better

Meh? It's just an older version of the antiquated 212 family with two LED fans. This cooler will more than get it done, and at a lower price.

Never heard of that brand before, and that is ultra cheap for ANY type of drive. I looked at the Amazon page, and it appears that these SSDs are rebranded by Microcenter.

Your warranty should be good because Microcenter, but you should expect it to be slower than other brands like Sandisk and Samsung.

As far as your HDD goes, I know you're trying to save some $$, but 500 GB in 2018? Yikes, with games you'll max it out in no-time.

I have a laptop that I use for just about everything, this computer will just be for gaming. I don't play many games, so I think I'll be good. Thanks a ton for the info, though :)
