Corsair psu will it explode??

I was planning to use a corsair  rm850i/x however reading certain reviews i have found that quite a few people have claimed them exploding??

 

most people have given somewhat positive reviews and there is the 5/7/10 yr warranty.

You'd be fine with the RM550x or RM650i. You don't need 850W and there won't be any benefit from going the more expensive 850W model unless you're planning on using SLI 1080s/2080s.

ik its just for future proofing i guess but do you think it will be fine? Do corsair cover other parts being damaged as well

It's not future proofing it's wasting money because you don't know what you actually need. Are you going to SLI or use an i9/TR CPU? If not then you'll never need 850W

RX550 has been excellent in my ITX build. 

 

I’m running 8600 and an RX580 with a couple of SSDs and a HDD. 

 

My system is a high FPS 1080p build so I specced my PSU for that as a 1440p build is out of my budget range.
