Crosshair Hero VII not detecting the RGB function on my memory.

So I have been trying to get my HyperX Predator RGB memories to work with aura sync on my Crosshair Hero VII for a few days now. Tried all the recommended solutions on the ofiicial Aura Sync threads on Asus ROG boards and it will simply not find them. Running the DOCP profile for the memories. Latest BIOS version. Tried different versions of Aura Sync and their nifty little Aura Sync cleaner app and nothing seems to help. Was hoping someone else might have had these problems and found a solution to it.

Did you enable 'SPD Write' in the BIOS?

Some ASUS motherboards (along with AsRock and MSi boards?) need you to enable this setting in the BIOS before you can control the RGB lighting.

G.Skill, for one, mentions this on their website:

Quote

On some Z370 and ASUS X99 motherboards, enabling "SPD Write" in BIOS is required: PDF Guide

1. Enter BIOS. (Press the “DELETE” key while the system is booting to enter BIOS.)

2. Check and make sure you are in the “Advanced Mode”. a. If you are in the “EZ Mode”, press the “F7” key to switch to the “Advanced Mode” menu.

3. Navigate to the “Ai Tweaker” tab.

4. Scroll down to find “DRAM Timing Control” and press “Enter”.

5. Scroll all the way down to the bottom inside the “DRAM Timing Control” menu, and you will see a “DRAM SPD Write” option.

6. Press “Enter” or “Page Up/Down” to select “Enable”.

7. Press “F10” key to save and exit the BIOS. 8. After rebooting into the Windows OS, the Trident Z RGB software should be able to detect the memory modules and allow you to set lighting effects.

Oh, found this on the ASUS ROG forums too...

No I did not since I can not find that setting in my BIOS at all :)

I don't have an ASUS Crosshair VII Hero on-hand...you'll have to dig around the BIOS yourself.

I have and it does not exist. I can find it on your motherboard but there is no info on it on mine for some reason.

It doesn't exist on every board, only on certain Z370 and X99 motherboards.

For example X299 Asus boards don't have that option.

I was suspecting this. Been all over the BIOS and nothing.
