1440p monitor. Too many options feeling confused.

imseeingthings

Hey guys, I'm a long time fan of linus' youtube channel, haven't been on the forums before but i needed some help.

So im upgrading my whole setup. i went with and 8086k, 2080, 32gb ram. Im currently rocking a 970 with a 1080p 90hz monitor and want to upgrade that as well.

Im looking for a high refresh rate 1440p monitor, my price range is about 650 at the high end. I know I could go for a 4k monitor but the prices are just too high for me. I want something thats going to have decent refresh rate, and i just spent almost 3k on my new rig so going for a $1000+ monitor is not really an option at the moment.

Here are a few i was looking at, but totally open to options. How important is it that i get a G-sync monitor?

thanks guys!

If its an option, I'll recommend a 1440 ultrawide that runs 100hz: MX34VQ

The 2080 will drive this thing flawlessly  and it looks stunning.

No VESA though.

If you really want 16:9, that Asus display looks fair
