Hi and Welcome to the Linus Tech Tips Forum :)

014.jpg

Although dual 770's outperform a single 780/780 Ti the scaling might not be too great. Other than that very nice.

Please become a member of the Linus Tech Tips forum, keep writing smug remarks & let us love you. Peace out.

Yes, I'd agree on this. If you need more than 2GB of VRAM, I wouldn't go with 4GB GTX 770's. They only have a 256 bit bus, you'd be better off going with a single higher end card. Honestly dual cards aren't really worth it unless your willing to mess around with drivers. Some games won't support dual cards either. Go with a single R9  290X or GTX 780 Ti (if you can afford it)

Although dual 770's outperform a single 780/780 Ti the scaling might not be too great. Other than that very nice.

A single 780 Ti would probably perform equally in most games, and actually outperform it in some cases given that scaling will vary from game to game, and in some the OP may only see a 20% increase in performance over a single 770.

if money is not the issue why not get the best GPU possible now so that you won't be needing to upgrade anytime soon? i say a 290x or a 780Ti ?

Also, going for dual GPU's before getting an i7 makes no sense in my mind.

What resolution are playing at?
The 780ti is, as most said, a better option. You can also put in a lower watt power supply and save some money. In some games, the 780ti actually blows the 770 SLI's out of the water.

In a lot of them, it's right on par.

Something like an AX 760(i) would be great for both the dual GTX 770's or any single card. That said, for a single card, the older AX 650 would be plenty.

ive changed to a 780ti and its works out cheeper (did i just say that?) with the CPU for gaming i heard you only get a few FPS more or less with an i7 or an i5. and as to the cost im saving up for it so if it costs more i just have to wait longer (which i dont mind)

What's the system being used for? What about the peripherals?

This is not a build log. Please post in the relevant section next time.

It seems like he's asking for advice on the parts he picked so how is this the wrong section?

A build log is for pictures detailing the completion and or progress of a build. This should be in new builds and planning. When I posted, the topic was in the incorrect subforum. It has since been mobed .

Feel free to message me if you want to chat!

I would say get 780 ti, and you can go SLI before a i7 for gaming. After SLI you could either go for i7 or more SSD space/ better peripherals.

CPU: i7-4770k CPU Cooler: NH-D14 RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8gb GPU: EVGA Superclocked 780 ti MOBO: ASUS Maximus VI Gene PSU: Corsair RM 850 Case: Bitfenix Prodigy M
