Please Send Help! I need a M*cBo*k

LucasM

So, i've recently got a new hobbies - i'm attempting to do some DJ magic! I've been doing commercial DJing for a couple of months now, and i've had the opportunity to go behind the scenes in some clubs in my area and see how its all done! The work experance went very well, so much so, i've gotten myself a new weekend job!

Now, this is where i require the help from the LTT community. I've always been on windows, always always alway, my Gaming PC is windows, my Surface pro 3, is obviously windows, this means i haven't got the slightest clue about MacBooks, but i need to get a MacBook.

It doesn't have to be brand new, Second hand is fine, and will be a lot nicer on the old bank account.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thank you for your much loved help, and wish me luck with using something from Apple! xxxxxx

~Lucas

Get a 2012 Mbp, slap an SSD and 16gigs of ram and you should be alright. Its what I used in my dj'ing days with a DDJ SX. Never let me down once.

At that point, you might as well just use a Netbook.

Next celebration should be 6666 right?

Nah, thats boring! The club that i've been learning at has a pretty mad set up. Seaming as im clueless, i'm only allowed on the little set up:

  • Some fancy custom speaker setup that was installed by a company in the UK who also put in some fancy lighting which the big boys use
  • A Pioneer DJ XDJ-RX2 All-In-One DJ Controller which is hooked up into some fancy stuff which i don't really understand
  • Other music and audio devices including a microphone so everyone can hear my voice break

I've looked at an early 2015 MacBook pro i5 8GB ram, but i would like 16GB if they come in that config,

Thanks for your advise, i won't look at anything older than a 2015/16 ❤️

I've literally seen people who call themselves DJs and all they do is plug their MacBook Pros in via Aux. and open up iTunes. The poser world Apple envisioned gone wrong.
