Done with my M50's, need an upgrade

Save dosh and get SRH440 with the 840's pads, you'll get the same sound/quality for less.

Alright, so over the holidays, I REALLY got fed up with the feel of the pads on my M50's. just so done. so atm I'm looking for an upgrade. I've been looking at the Shure SRH840's, they seem interesting, and right now, for me, they're at the top of the tiny list of headphones I think actually will be an upgrade. but I'm not entirely sure, so just wondering if you guys know any headphones with the following:

Detailed sound. this is one of the bigger points with my M50's, I really really like the sound, compared to my PC360's, they just give that extra detail which makes them amazing for Progressive Metal like I listen to a lot.

Comfort. I have a pair of PC360's, (basically 558's), and they're really effin comfy (but I want closed headphones, and I'll be selling the 360's). For the pads, if they're leather, I'd like for them to be a softer kind, but I think the best would be a velour or something.

It'll be nice with the same bass-level as the M50's, but this is not necessary.

I'd like for them to be low resistance like the M50's, but if higher power is required, I could use my D2X, which should work fine unless I am wrong?

Just hit me with your best shot guys, I think anything up to about the equivalent of 300 USD could work, just leave suggestions, and I will check prices in the stores I have available. I'm sort of lazy today, which is why I'm just posting here instead of searching far and wide.

Turtle beach X12. Bass is amazing on those things although it is flimsy

dude, what

leave this place, now

@Lauen you could try looking at a Grado SR325i, or maybe AKG K701's

Sennheiser's lineup seems like it would be decent at rock too. Especially something like a 598.

What's wrong?

well you seem to have joined recently, so I will forgive it for now if you're not just trolling around. I could try to explain but you're better off just reading the forums more. It's easier for both of us.

A budget would be helpful, in the meantime, SR-009 and an HEV90.

440's are great options, other then that the COP and HD380's are great products.

m35, m30?

opened? closed? over ear? buds?  Im a 25 year sennheiser headphone user fanboy. i use hd595's and waiting for modmic 4.0. Studio/DJ Headsets are known to be tight I would not recommend them for extended gaming comfort wise. Your ears are unique as your taste and sound preferences take the plunge and grab something new. review it for us. hd449s or momentums might work
