Jump to content

Disable the remote access, apply, then re-enable. That usually works for me. Also check whether your IP address is still the same. When the DHCP lease has run out, a reboot will trigger a new lease request, sometimes causing you to get a new address.

I always use the netBIOS host name for rdp since consumer routers almost never give consistent IP's to the same device

Works well enough if you're on the same network, yes. I often go in via VPN and netbios resolving doesn't work over a VPN. So I prefer to just use static IPs for everything.

oh I see, but most people don't feel like handing static IP's for everything. I've given up op that because I had to many to remember Lol

I base my VM names on IP addresses, so I don't have the need to remember them, luckily haha.

Good plan, I started handing out simple adresses like 192.168.1.1 - 2 - 3 then i started with 10 100 101 then 50 and 250.

Now im getting into 46 , 48 , 36 since im running out of ideas lol
