Buddy of mine has been saving for a PC for a while. This is the build I'm going to recommend, anything look like it can be changed or tightened up? He has a 240GB SSD and a 4TB HDD that he'll be carrying over from his current system but he wants an SSD game drive, hence the 500GB WD Blue. His use-case is prominently gaming and programming with some light 1080p video editing.

The 1080ti seems overkill in this build. a 1060, 1070, 1070ti, 1080 or a RX580, Vega 56 or Vega 64 would pair better with the build

He's got a 1440p monitor and a 120Hz 1080p monitor that he usually uses for gaming.

Yeah ok if it’s ok with him, just get a 1080ti then. The 1080 is great for 1440p 144hz gaming, but the 1080ti will have fewer problem games so just go for it.

1080 Ti will be great for 1440p gaming, but maybe change the fans for something a bit more premium. Otherwise, good spec build.

Corsair ML fans are my personal suggestion. They're a bit expensive but move a ton of air and are very quiet.
