hi,

These two cases are so similar it took me a while to see the differences:

(1) Masterbox 5

(2) Masterbox 5 Black

They are identical in size and all, but (1) has an exhaust on the top of the case which (2) doesn't. Will it make a big difference for air cooling? I noticed (1) is pretty rare to find, there are only (2)er cases available in local stores. Also, I like the accessories that ships with (2).

Oddly, I couldn't find many reviews for (2).

I am looking for a future-proof mid tower for < 100 € for i7-8700k and dark Rock pro 3 with side window and good air flow. I'd like to overclock it a bit but the i7 heats up pretty fast.

They're basically the same, probably doesn't matter which you get.

But why the 8700K? Intel 9th gen is coming out in October, and a Ryzen 5 2600 is likely a much better value.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

I bet the Black edition has higher clocks

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

From what I can tell they're the exact same case, but one has an extra top fan mount....

oh, that means it already has PSU, built in..

That particular SKU does seem to have one built in, but not all of the MasterBox's do. Most dont
