So I have a build ready to go, but I want to make sure the Power Supply is going to be strong enough for everything I have lined up with a pretty serious overclock on both CPU and GPU. The 970 is at 1420MHz Core and 3856MHz Memory according to MSI afterburner, and I want to make sure I can overclock the 2600 to the limit it will allow. Will 550 watts be enough for this build with WLAN, multiple USB devices, and things like a Blu Ray drive and Front Card Reader? I tried it on the Power Supply page of Cooler Master, but multiple people have told me that the page is "for morons" and is completely incorrect so I don't know what else to do. Thanks in advance!

450W is already plenty for overclocking.

The Focus 550W seems to have issues with some GPUs for whatever reason, so consider a different PSU.

The RMx 2018 550W is well priced, at $52 rebate. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/bqVD4D/corsair-rmx-2018-550w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020177-na

I see, I didn't know that the 550W Focus had problems, thanks for that. I just wanted to verify because I have this from CM website and I was a bit alarmed.image.png.67bcdfcb9569e263c244b35a8d3f7f02.png

LOL that's what I get for assuming only AMD CPUs with an X on the end can overclock yikes

Haha, it's ok. They're all overclockable. The X just has the base speeds boosted. It's not like Team Blue where you have to pay extra to overclock~

Oh wow I didn't know that, so on Intel only the "K" ones (like i7 8700K) can overclock but on AMD any can, not just the X ones?

As far as I know. I know that on the 2200G/2400G you can even overclock the built in GPU too. On a side note, do you think the H7 will be good enough for the CPU I have? or do you know a better one?
