so this last month.. alienware laptop one or both graphic cards have a problem, my older I7 920 the

water cooling pump died yesterday, but on the 28 dec 2013 i bought a new system because i wanted to upgrade

System now reboots no blue screen when gpu is under load

4770k

asus z87 formula

16 gb skill 2133 memory

msi gaming 780 ti

1 tb samsung evo

corsair 900d did not put side or top panel back

corsair 850HX  psu from my older system

i did run the graphic card my older system and even overclocked it no prob and played games, even put

te valley numbers  here.

ive done some research but i think people can understand this is just to much crap happen all the same time

kinda depressing

so please help would be good.

so far ive done prime95 cpu got hot but system did not reboot.

afterburner to monitor and kumbuster sometimes reboots, ive only run it a few minutes

valley benchmark reboots all the time

system is running overclock by default cpu 3.9

windows is a new install

motherboard bios updated

graphic card latest driver

dont think its a temp thing cpu runs under tdp, gpu some 68 to 72

please help a guy who right now is at work using the pc there and at home used his ps4 for internet browsing...

tks in advance

ps anyone here have the 780 ti twin frozer like me? the cooling pipes are burning hot and this motherboard has the mem sticks close

What are the temps on the gpu and cpu?

A system can indeed suddenly reboot under severe temperatures.

CPU:

Intel Core i5 2500k - Motherboard: Asus maximus iv gene-z - RAM: 2x Corsair Vengeance Blue 4GB DDR3-1600 CL9 - GPU: ASUS GTX 770 DirectCU II
Case: Coolermaster Centurion 5 II - Storage: Crucial M4 128GB, Seagate barracuda 3TB PSU: XFX 650W XXX Edition Modular PSU - Keyboard: Ducky Shine 2 Pro
Mouse: Razer Deathadder 2013 - Sound: Razer Characias

Your new PC is less than 2 weeks old and is already causing troubles, use the warranty and have them fix it for you.  Most likely it's either a GPU defect or a PSU defect, since is only when under load.

Mystery is the source of all true science.

gpu 68 to 72

cpu 97 prime 95 asus board overclocked it to 3.9mhz

the gpu in my i7 920 4.0 mhz and x58 motherboard with same psu never had a problem

thats why i dont understand.

i can exchange parts but they wont fix it since i put it together

97 degrees? Holy shit! I think that may be your issue. Most cpu's will shutdown the system at temperatures like that to prevent damage. Underclock it for the time being and buy a new cpu cooler when you can. What is it at the moment?

Yeah this. Get a new CPU Cooler or check the thermal paste.

new motherboard took some time to find out:) so now at stock its under 80

just did a 1h memtest

80 under load yes? now try replicating the crashes and see if it'll do it. If it doesn't, the cpu temps were the problem and you'll solve the issue by upgrading the cpu cooler and it's thermal paste. Refrain from overclocking on the intel stock cooler.

Doesn't sound like your cpu then. Yeah, give the 5870 a go. Remember to use driver sweeper in safe mode to uninstall the existing nvidia drivers to rule out any conflicts.

It is your GPU, RMA it.

Also it MIGHT (doubt it) be your PSU. I don't know the 12v amperage on the corsair 850HX  psu, but if it isn't enough the TI could be causing your system to reboot because the PSU is struggling to power it.

EDIT: NVM, not the PSU 850HX has a single +12V rail design providing up to 70A, more than enough for a TI.

CPU: i7-3930K @ 4.8GHz MOBO: IV Gene RAM: 16GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 1866MHz GPU: GTX 780 Ti CASE: Corsair 350D STORAGE: 2 x Samsung 840 Pro 256 GB, 2x WD Red 4TB

tks for the tip, i knew about this but the frustration made me forget

radeon 5870 40amps and 500w psu

nvidia 780 ti 42amps 600w psu

corsair hx850  850w and Single +12V rail design providing up to 70A

hard part what finding out if it was the motherboard or not and i still dont know if it is ok.

you would figure motherboard companies would have by now develop a software diagnosis for motherboards, even a simple one

also this link might be helpfull for some people who forget that video card is not only psu watts
