2ND GPU is doing nothing

Hello everyone, I currently have 2 XFX R7 260X 1GB cards in crossfire mode but for some strange reason, my second one is hardly doing anything, just spinning it's fan. I re-installed all the AMD drivers but nothing has changed. Help would be appreciated.

It could be possible depending on some games that the second graphics card isn't really needed to increase the FPS in the game.

I know this doesn't help, but why would you buy two cheap cards and crossfire them? xfire sucks, why not 1 more powerful card?

Because I got them for an incredibly cheap price.

So I think I found my problem, when I turn off v-sync/fps limiters, suddenly my 1st gpu becomes a lot more quieter and the frame rate obviously goes a lot higher.

Where you using something like Radeon Pro to check GPU usage for both cards?

I was using AMD catalyst.

Maybe cause one can push the game at 60 and doesn't need the other GPU.

And what games are we talking about here?

Well That happened in Sleeping Dogs and Just Cause 2 Multiplayer.

And what does Catalyst say about your 2nd GPU usage once you turn off Vsync? Does it start working?

I just noticed in AMD CCC, the activity/power/temp/gpu, memory clock are stuck at 0% and fan speed is stuck at 20%

Just those games?

Those games had a big difference, the rest only had smaller differences..

Get a second opinion using GPU-Z, check that CCC isnt just screwing up

GPU Z is the same thing, just 20% fan speed and at 1200 RPM.

Try re-installing the drivers using the latest non-beta version (even if you are running this do it anyway).

Yet again another ultra-low powerstate problem. Just for future readers with Crossfire problems, ALWAYS DISABLE ULPS!
