Downgrading iOS.

Hello guys, I have a crazy idea and I just wanted to shared with you. To put you in context I have an iPhone 5s that was given to me as a present a while ago and unfortunately it has iOS 11 on it. I don't like to update the operating system because I like to have the one that was made for that particular phone. Then, one day I saw this video "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUnJ64I4Haw" (is in spanish BTW) but basically what they do is to upgrade the iPhone storage from 16GB to 128GB. Now the idea I had is what happens if we do this but instead of putting a new empty drive we put one that already have an operating system in it. Yes boys I'm talking to change drives between an iPhone 4 (its latest iOS is 7.1.2) and an iPhone 5s. Will it work? What would be the result for this madness ? (I'm from colombia and there are guys that do that for living so no problems there). If you guys agreed that this may work I will start saving in orther to get an used iPhone 4 and to pay the operation. Thank you for the help.

I don't think it would work because the 5s is 64bit and the 4 is 32bit so IOS would be different on them

Doesn't work that way. iOS was 32-bit and 64-bit hybrid between iOS7 and the release of iOS11. Purely iOS itself is not the problem.

Apple doesn't sign certain ios(es? idk plural ios) after they update because of issues with jailbreakers.  Now that's not quite what you are talking about, but this is very jank and a bad idea. They update the operating system because it allows for better efficiency as well as newer technologies to be designed. Get used to ios 11 and just stick with it like everyone else. It's more convenient and you aren't risking bricking your phone and losing money.

iOS12 runs better on these older devices than 11 even, so there is 0 reason to go back :)

iOS 4 has 0 support for the 5s, the operating system probably wouldn’t even pass its POST. 

 

iOS 12 makes the 5s feel alive again. I would just update it can not get that feeling of nostalgia. Btw the 5s shipped with iOS 7.
