Hello all,

New here and I have tried looking for this issue but couldn't find it anywhere. So, I just built a PC (this isn't my first build) and for whatever reason, I keep getting this really bad stuttering issue (see youtube link). That is of me play CSGO, but it happens all the time, even if I am just browsing the web. The mouse will just stutter or lag and then catch up or something.

My build:

Asus Maximus Hero X (Wifi)

i7-8700k

H115i

ASUS Strix 1080

Corsair CX750M PSU

4X 8 GB DDR4 3000 Corsair Vengence RGB

1 TB 960 Evo

3 TB 7200 RPM HDD

Hyper X Alloy Elite Keyboard

Logitech G703 Mouse with the powerplay pad

I get this stutter regardless if I am overclocked or not. I also turned off ASUS enhanced core or whatever they call it. My PSU is from my last build and I think it might be the culprit. Anyone have any other ideas? This is my second MOBO and I have tried reinstalling windows numerous times.

Any help would be great.

Interesting. I was close to making a troubleshooting post myself about having stuttering in CSGO but nowhere else. He did say it was all the time

I didn't really see anything in the video though...

PUBG does as well. But my mouse stutters even when I am just browsing the web. My cursor will just skip or hesitate for second

At 1 to 4 seconds, I am not moving my mouse that much. It just skipped like that.

Are all drivers up to date? Are you using a 144 hz panel? Is 144 hz turned on? Gsync on or off? Vsync on or off?

Are your graphical settings for your computer using the IGpu on the CPU or Is it using your GPU as the main Display driver? Can be checked in settings

my MX Master stutters the same way when the receiver is far, now i know you're using the powerplay pad, but still maybe try another mouse :) a wired one

I tried 2 other mice with the same issues. Another wireless and one wired.

Drivers are up to date and yes I am using a 144 hz panel. 144 hz is turned on. This is a non gsync panel and vsync is off.

It should be using my GPU as the display driver. Do I check that in the device manager?

Just double checked. My 1080 is the main display driver.

You can, but also check your Nvidia 3D Settings to making sure your GPU is being used.

While your in here also make sure your nvidia panel is running 144hz as well.

Is it a Freesync panel or a Korean 144hz panel?

the monitor I am using is below. Checked in the NVida settings and I am both running at 144hz and have it as my main display driver.

All the drivers and everything is up to date. I just did a fresh install of windows today and reinstalled all the drivers straight from the manufactures website.

I appreciate everyone's help BTW. I am going to try a new PSU tomorrow morning and see if that is it for whatever reason.

It might be worth mentioning that I think I lost the lottery when it comes to CPU. This thing runs insanely hot (90+) even with just 1.35 volts with a 280 AIO cooler.

PSU isnt the issue, stuttering like this is generally either a Panel issue or a GPU driver issue.

Also no, 1.35V is a lot of volts for a 8700k and a 280 AIO, those are 100% normal temps. Its a HOT chip, most daily use OCs tend to be in the range of 1.25-1.3 if it can handle that.

Weird, all the overclocking tutorials said that 1.35 volts should be fine with a smaller water cooler lol. But that is good to know.

And alright, I will continue digging. It just seems weird that 2 different Mobos and 3 different windows installs and I am still having the same issue.

Have you changed the panel itself? That is something i would look into.

Also they are not being honest imo. 1.35V is going to make that chip run at 80-90c on a 240/280 cooler in some cases. Running it at a lower voltage and slightly lower clocks will certainly help

Running on Displayport.

Apparently. I just thought I got robbed. Currently, I am not overclocked and turned off ASUS enhanced core or whatever they call it. So it should be stock intel settings.
