What are good cheap but reliable SSD for data

I have i think about 1TB of data (docs, videos, photos) on an HDD that has physical problems and I want to buy SSD to transfer the data. What are cheap and reliable (good credible brands) of SSD (~ 240-480gb) most likely going to buy 2 or 3 drives, total budget 120USD

thanks

120USD? for 2 or 3 drives? thats not gonna happen.

Just buy a lot of HDD and a raid controller put it on RAID 1 and bam!

Or you could just use Cloud storage, obviously you have to pay but your data will be safe

Behold the power of Chuck Norris the forbidden one.

Absolutely not going to happen. Unless you bought maybe some back alley rejects from china.

If speed is what you're after in high capacities you might find it in your liking to invest in building a server with a small multi-drive array. A 5 drive RAID6 w/ 10Gbit NIC would give you close to SSD performance with incredible density.

Not with that budget you're not.

If it's just for mass storage, just use an HDD. It's what they're good for these days.

Why would you want to spread your data over multiple small drives? Might as well just get an HDD and an external HDD to back it up to if you're worried about losing it.

As others have said, not going to happen for that budget. And why multiple drives? Just get one 1TB SSD (it will be cheaper!).

Also, if it's just for storing stuff like documents, videos, photos, it sounds like you really don't need the speed of an SSD. Just get a cheap replacement HDD..
