So i want to build a new machine during december to January. But I dont know what to buy. There are some who say you should buy an intel cpu if you want just to game(which is what i will do) and there are some who say ylu should buy a ryzen because of the extra cores and of the future proofing of it since we hear that game in 1 or 2 years will start using all the cores of the cpu. What do you guys think?

They have the same number of cores. Will you be streaming or doing any video editing?

Which i5 from Intel were you looking at? The 8400, the 8500, 8600, or the 8600k?

The Ryzen 5 2600 is going to be cheaper than Intel's i5 offerings. Depending on which i5 you're looking at, the Ryzen 5 2600 would be between $30-$100 cheaper.

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

The ryzen will offer better value for money, the i5 will offer better fps.

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

If you don't already have a GPU, the Ryzen with on-board graphics is a no-brainer. It will womp the i5 in integrated gaming up one side and down the other. Think fortnight, medium settings, 1080p @60fps

Living in the present, for the future, because of the past.
