1080 ti or 2080 for VR

I currently have a GTX 1060 3g with a Ryzen 5 1600x,

 

I'm going to update my GPU soon because I play a lot of VR games.

 

I know that in much cases the RTX 2080 it a bit better than the 1080ti, but I couldn't find any info about VR.

 

In this case (VR games), is 11g of gddr5 better than 8g of gddr6?

Even a 1070 is more than enough for VR, so if you want to save a bit of money I would go for the 1080ti or even a 1080. The 2080 is good, but, a lot of the technology is kind of useless if it is just going to be used for VR.

The 1080ti and the 2080 are the same in performance. They trade blows so I would just go for the cheaper one if you are trying to save money. The 2080 might be better if you are interested in the new tech or want to play games with good asyncrnous compute like the newest wolfenstien.
