Keystroke registers on *lift* rather than on *press*

Hi,

 

I've been experiencing lately some problems with my Logitech G413 Carbon.

 

First of all, the 'ESC' key sometimes doesn't register, sometimes it registers twice. This is problematic in some games where you want to bring up options or save menu but since it registers twice it brings the menu then closes it immediately.

 

Secondly, my 'SHIFT' keys (yes both of them) register keystrokes on *lift* rather than on *press*

 

I am using this website to check how the keys register.

 

Anyone experience the same issue or have any suggestions? Please say so below.

I don't know if you are interpreting the info correctly.

When I push my shift key or any other, there is an immediate click sound from the keyboard tester.

Then when I release the key, the graphic for the key blips red momentarily.

What say you?

I would recommending using something else to test so that you know what behaviour to expect.  Perhaps notepad.exe?

It actually goes like this, when I type say the first letter of a word in capital, it doesn't capitalize and only the succeeding keys do. Also, the escape key double taps sometimes. I play Overwatch and Fallout 4 so I would know it actually does that. Also, the "run" in Fo4 is just a tap in shift key instead of a long press, it wouldn't run at first and would run after I hit it and it cancels again.

My first instinct is that it's a physical problem with the keyboard switches.  My only reservation with claiming that is it seems too strange of an issue to happen that way...

I use this program for testing keyboards: Switch Hitter It gives very detailed Info about exactly what is happening.

 

For your problem I would A: Try a different keyboard on your PC. and B: Try that keyboard on different PC. This way you can see if it's a hardware or software problem.

That's actually what I'm thinking since it happened before on a different mech keyboard too.
