I'm thinking of getting a new GPU soon but I still can't decide if the 770 is worth the extra money over the 760. I currently only have 215$ to spend on a new GPU but if the 770 is worth the extra money i might just save longer and get that over the 760.

I have it and it is fantastic

But do you think it's worth nearly 2x the money for the performance?

Wait, it shouldn't be that much more.

Ok well then i think you should be really happy with the 770 but please just get the 2gb version not the 4gb not really worth it at all and plus the R9 280x has 3gb which you really wouldn't need for just one monitor setup 2gb is fine i would even say 1gb may be fine for one monitor

Im currently runnign a single monitor that runs at 1440x900 so screen res isnt goign to eat up a ton of memory but i plan on getting a 1920x1080 oe possibly a 2560x1440 mointor in a few years.

The reason I wouldn't get the 770 is because:

1. It's not future-proof, meaning, it has a 4GB and 2GB variant. But the 4GB can't use all of it because the memory bus is only 256bit. But the rule of thumb is 128bit/gig so because of that, the bus is not big enough to let all the textures through, causing your FPS to drop drastically.

2. Maxwell is going to be a whole new architecture and not a re-branded 660TI or a 680

well if you plan to get a 1440p monitor it should be fine but the 770 cant use all 4gb it only can use 3gb of it so its kind of a waste of money in my opinion

This is not completely true.

And god knows how long it's going to take for Maxwell to come out
