First start with SSD. It will give you big difference. After that if I were you, I would start replacing other parts slowly (CPU,GPU..). Actually this is how I upgraded my rig from low end i3 to high end gaming i7. A

First off, wrong section. This should probably be posted in new builds and planning, just remember for the future :)

ATM I'd say start with SSD and monitor. A 240gb SSD shouldn't cost too much ($50-$60 ish), and you could probably get a solid 1080p 144 hz monitor for less than $200, or maybe you're willing to go even better, idk. If you need more RAM, maybe you could get more; otherwise, it's not necessary.

What case do you have rn?

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Wrong thread section.

Get an SSD but don't fully cheap out on the SSD. Cheap one's tend to prematurely fail.

You're saying that you're using TV as a PC monitor ? That's not good. Monitor is if not one of the most important part of your PC for gaming as it's the thing you actually see.
TV's tend to have high input lag.

Get a better CPU first as your GPU is OK for Esports type of games. Rather than i5-7400 why don't you get i5-7600 or maybe if you have the coin or you fall on a good deal i7-7700 the difference will be tremendous.

Then you may think of changing the GPU. See if you can sell yours and buy a gtx 1060 or maybe 1070Ti. Not gonna be cheap tho

---

Bottom line, first thing you must change is your Screen then get SSD then CPU then RAM/GPU. Could be a slow process but it will be worth

Current CPU is fine. GPU probably fine as well as long as you're not playing bleeding edge stuff.

Get SSD if you don't already have one, better monitor if you feel it's necessary, More details about your monitor might help.

Thank you guys for the feedback! I may have caused some confusion from my ssd. It is a m.2 Sata 3 silicon power but it runs like balls.

My case is a DIYPC J180-W and I got it for 35 bucks but I could've gone with something better. My 1050ti is actually new and i got it about a week ago. i was using integrated graphics so this is a big step up. Right now i have medium to high settings at 60FPS in games like Fortnite and cs:go.Thanks for your response.

And sorry for cat. Mis-match.
