Are waterblocks really only for reference cards ?

Go to solution Solved by Ghost,

EK usually makes DCII blocks eventually. Check www.coolingconfigurator.com every so often or ask them by e-mail or in EK thinkcell.

Hi, is there any chance I can find a waterblock that fits on a custom design ?

If I could put a waterblock on a 290X Direct CUII for example, I would be able to get a better overclock.

Does something like that exists ? Other than EVGA pre-waterblocked cards. (are those even a custom design ?)

Thanks ! Wanting to get into full watercooling as soon as I change my GPU, it will be of great help :)

They come out for some special custom PCB cards like lightning, DC2 and Toxic, currently no other manufacturer does cards like Hydrocopper but powercolor is planning to releasing 290x's with waterblocks in a short while.

If the aftermarket waterblocks from XSPC, EK etc were to work with the PCB I'm pretty sure they would. Not sure why they wouldn't

Water blocks are made for custom PCBs. I know ones exist for DCu2 cards.

The big non reference cards seems to get waterblock compatibility. EK offer the most range. They make cards for most DCII, Lightning, Palit/Gainward cards which are all non-reference. http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/ is your friend
