this is more worth it TBH, but make sure you get a good model, not just looking at the specs only

I'm looking at getting a gaming laptop to replace my sub-par desktop, but i'm not wanting to wait for months of paychecks to clear to get a beast machine, so I was wondering if a laptop with a GTX 1050 Ti was going to graphically outperform my GTX 1050 i currently have, or if i should spend a bit more on the GTX 1060 version

A desktop 1050 beats a laptop 1050ti by 1% .

It is not a big difference .

I recommend a 1060 at least if you need more performance.

But if you want similar performance to your desktop a laptop 1050ti is good.

The desktop and laptop 10 series nvdia cards are the same, excluding clock, cooling differences and in some cases the amount of VRAM.

The 1050ti will probably be around 20% more fps and the 1060 around 80% more vs the 1050 (Assuming CPU etc is not causing a bottleneck).
