MX-4 for a MBP 2012

So I managed to salvage enough non-working components to rebuild a 2012 macbook pro and it's been a beauty of a machine to just have kicking around seeing as the only part that cost me money was a cheap ssd. However it kicks up a considerable amount of heat. I have some MX-4 lying around and while it would most definitely give it a slight performance boost I'm wondering whether it's really even worth my time to go ahead and replace the oem thermal compound. The cooling system on the 2012s is not super robust. I guess I'm here to leave the decision in your hands, should I or is it not worth it?

I replaced the thermal paste on my macbook pro from 2009 after 9 years and it dropped temps 27C from 100C. Also gives you a chance to clean out dust

For all intents and purposes under load is more accurate. YouTube, web browsing and Discord are usually the only things open. 

 

Specs:

OS: El Capitan 10.11

CPU: i5 2.4

RAM: 8gb 1600  mhz ddr3

SSD: 480gb Silicon Power (cheapness)

 

I’m also now aware that it is 2011 and not 2012 my mistake
