the Ryzen will be better by a pretty large proportion. it will also give maybe more longevity that the older 3rd gen i7. it depends on how much you want to spend which is your choice. the rest of your pc will be fine with the new cpu. just a new mobo and maybe a new case which will support the new mobo stand off's. just check with what case support what mobo

Hey guys

 

Coming from an i5 3570K. I currently have it at 4.4 GHz and it does well in video editing. 1080p and 4K

 

I'm planning on upgrading.

 

I'm thinking for Ryzen but that means I'll change my system completely. 

 

Go for Ryzen or upgrade to a 3770K?

 

Is their difference that much? Going for the 3770K means I'll spend less. Going for the Ryzen means I spend more, but does the price justify the performance I'm going to get?

Pretty much on a tight budget. I might dig deeper on the i7 3770K and that Ryzen's comparison. Thank you

Why is Ryzen of a second hand 3rd gen Intel Core your only alternatives?

 

Any ways Ryzen+ 2000 series is equivalent to Intel's 4th gen in over all per core performance, so the Ryzen 5 2600 is the superior choice if we just consider CPU horse power.

 

Then again depending what software you want, where you're from and other stuff to take into consider you could end up benefiting from a different CPU like a Ryzen 7 1700 or i7 8700 instead, should you need more cores or if you'll go with Adobe Suite since Intel can now hardware accelerate with the iGPU... etc.
