is 860 evo good?

yes, it's one of the most popular ones for good reason

If you just want capacity, Micron has one right now that's insane.  By far the best GB/$ last time I checked

If you want speed, maybe a Samsung NVMe?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

2tb hard drive but what ssd?

this is about my friends pc he wants a big ssd im saying get a really fast one and install your best games to that.

I would recommend a 120-250 GB ssd. Small but great for your OS, files, and your most used applications.

Buying NVME because someone wants a "really fast one" for "games" is a waste of money.

SATA like an 850 evo is far more than enough.

as Enferman said: NVMe M.2's for "just games" is typically not worth it. My caveat is: Unless it's literally the only type of M.2 drive in the sort of capacity you're looking for.

Like; I'm running a 1TB Samsung 960 Pro & a 2TB Samsung 960 Pro (both NVMe M.2's) because I needed the 3TB of storage to offload ~95% of my games off an aging 4TB Barracuda and the only SSD's available in the M.2 format at the time in the capacities I needed (due to limited mounting options for 2.5"/3.5" drives) with NVMe ones. Sure the 960 Evo's with 1-2TB as SATA-type M.2's are available, but at the time of my getting them only NVMe was an option.

tbh it's not clear to me what the usecase actually is, that's why I offered two different extremes
