You could also wait for the 2000 series and either grab a sale on the 1070 or grab a 2070 or 2060 depending on performance and how they turn out ^^

I agree with Slottr though that you may wanna really think over it first.

I got the 1070ti FtW2 edition, but only because I got it at $414.99 USD.

Otherwise if it wasn't so cheap I would have just used the extra money to get the 1080.

The reason I ended up getting the 1070ti is because once it's overclocked it's basically a 1080. Except you're still able to OC the 1080 so the 1080 still wins.

But yeah like someone else posted, just look out for sales or wait for the 2000 series to unload and watch how everything plays out.

wait for the 2k series and see where they stand. I'm sure the prices of 1070's and 80's will drop more once the benchmarks of the 2K series come out.

Oh, unless you have a 144hz panel, as long as your 1060 is the 6GB model that should be plenty fine?

Well in that case, wait for the 20 series cards to drop then try to catch a good deal on a used 1070 or clearance sales for the 1070s

I'm surprised you need to run it at low-medium settings...

I was expecting Medium-High (not Ultra) with a GTX 1060 6GB.

I noticed in your profile you are running a i7-3930K.

Is the CPU overclocked, or running at stock?

Games these days still benefit more from higher CPU frequency, rather than higher core count.

A i7-3930K running at stock 3.2 GHz will hold you back -- unless you can run it at the ~4.5 GHz range, which many i7-3930K's are capable of doing.

Does your CPU have an iGPU?

If so maybe right before the embargo lifts on the 20 series

Are you able to check the CPU usage %, and GPU usage % when you are in-game?

Also, what is your DRAM / system memory usage like -- I see you have 8GB of RAM.

In any case, I don't think a GTX 1060 GB to a GTX 1070 is enough of an upgrade.

I would definitely recommend a GTX 1080 or 1080 Ti -- especially if you want to maintain a more consistent 144 FPS at 1440p.

GTX 1070 Ti is kind of an odd one...
