ASUS XG27VQ Backlight

Uchuu

I just purchased a new monitor, the ASUS XG27VQ, a 27" 1080p 144Hz VA panel, currently running at 120Hz on HDMI since I don't have the required DVI-D cable to run at 144Hz.  It is meant to be my primary display until I do a desktop upgrade and get a 1440p display as a primary.  It replaces an ASUS VH238H.  The VH will become my secondary display, eventually being moved off to something else when I do a full desktop upgrade with the XG being downgraded to secondary at that point.

In testing the XG out, the colours look a lot nicer and the blacks a lot deeper.  However, when running through tests I've noticed a fair amount of backlight bleed.  Of course, everyone will have a different tolerance, but does my panel have too much?  Album: https://imgur.com/a/pw7rZDs

I'm using 1920x1080p images of straight black and the primary colours in my testing.  I've noticed a bleed going from top to bottom on the very left side along with other bleed areas when on black.

Some backlight bleed is normal. It's fine as long as it doesn't bother you during normal usage.
