For pure gaming, Intel i7-8700K. Can't beat the single-core power of that thing.

Ryzen in contrast has more cores but it can't reach the same potential as an overclocked 8700K.

Threadripper, since you haven't heard of it, is a no-go for gaming. It's a high-end desktop CPU made for production with its high core and thead count.

For purely gaming stick to Intel. Their i5's tend to have higher single core speeds (which is still most important in games) and can overclock very well compared to their i7 counterparts. Go i7 if you are considering streaming or any additional workstation tasks.

Threadripper (TR) and Ryzen are AMD CPUs. TR is AMD's high end stuff.

Are you sure, I ways thought the I7 is better than I5

Depending on what you are doing. The i7's usually have more cores and have hyperthreading (doubling your cores logically, so a quad core becomes 8 usable cores). The i5's usually don't have hyperthreading, so 4 cores is 4 cores. But usually the i5's single core speeds are higher (especially if you overclock). The benefit of having more threads on the i7 is for multitasking, video editing, 3d rendering, streaming, etc. If you aren't doing any of that, or very little, then you are not gaining much of anything from having an i7.

And can you overclock I5 the same like I7

any 'K' variant of an Intel cpu is overclockable, non-'K' variants are not (i.e. 8600k vs 8600)
