Hello,

So I've had a few PC issues recently, had to reinstall Windows and things like that. CAM was fine before, but after a format, I switched on my PC to a CPU fan error, apparently, it was because I didn't set the fan speed to ignore in BIOS.So done that and all fine, but now I'm a bit concerned about my temps, I'm running at 45 degrees idle and about 75-80 whilst gaming. I've got a 4.8ghz OC on all cores with 1.296v. I mean, it might be paranoia, I've read that this chip runs hotter than some others.

Also why are you disabling the speed sensor?

The error message is annoying and interrupts the system boot. The system should still shut down when temps are too high so the setting doesn't need to be left enabled.

75-80c is fine. You can probably get away with lower voltage or aim for higher clocks.

looks fine to me, chances are you don't need 1.3v for 4.8

Appreciate the replies. Yeah I read you can disable to fan error message as CAM can control all that when the PC is on. I might drop the voltage down a bit, see how I get on. How much difference will I see in terms of temps if I drop the voltage down?

difference btwn 1.2 and 1.3 is huge, i'm not saying it'll run 4.8 at 1.2, but dropping it down slowly doesn't hurt as long as it's stable.

I'm using the Kraken X62.

I'm running the same chip, i7 8700K, OC at 4.9 GHz 1.290v, the temps are 36C idle and 58C gaming, the cooler is Noctua NH-U12S with NF-F12 iPPC 3000 PWM fan on it, but these temps only pushes the fan to spin up to 1900 rpm. Benchmarks and stress test it on Realbench which bring it to 78C max while the cooler hold it at 2300 rpm. I can provide screenshots if you want some proves.

You are on a lower clock than mine but same voltage, but your temps are higher than mine while you are using 280 mm AIO and I'm using a slim 120 mm air cooler with no AC in the room, my ambient temps around 26C. This is odd..

Your temps are more like when I was run my 8700K on 4.3 GHz Turbo Boost with FSP Windale 4 on it, and it was 49C idle and 71C gaming. I switched to NH-U12S and swapped the stock fan to a stronger one, and I have happy temps now.

As everyone said you may be pushing the voltage, try bringing it down little by little until it's unstable and then put it up to the setting whare it was last stable. Or go for a higher OC

So, thanks to you guys I've managed to drop the core voltage to 1.280v whilst maintaining the 4.8GHz OC, this has also dropped my temps down to about 38 whilst idle and about 65 whilst gaming.

Probably should mention as well I'm running with my Kraken X62 on the Silent profile. When taking all that into account, I think my temps might be okay now
