I am in the market for new headphones. I like bassy stuff, so good bass would be nice. I would prefer Sennheisers.

I recommend the Senheisers 558s

I recommend the Senheisers 558s

those aren't bass oriented headphones.

@Bertrock Obama

You can get a DT770 if you can find something to drive it.

An audio technica M50 if you can find it on sale might be something that would interest you. Vmoda crossfades are good too, but focus more on durability and portability. You can also find a Sony MDRX10 for pretty cheap.

By the way, Sennheiser doesn't make very bassy headphones aside from maybe some of their lower end stuff.

DT770 80 ohm version might run okay on your onboard adio, but not entirely sure. if not, look around for some of those V-Modas. Or you could get a pair of Beyer DT990 250 Ohm and a FiiO E10, which is one of the most recommended here. or you could always get a DT770 80 ohm and an E10.

But if you're outside North America, the E10 might be a bit pricey. for example, it is literally double the price plus some more, comparing Amazon's full price to the cheapest I could find here in Norway.

EDIT: Just thought of the Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro, it might tickle your pickle, and runs at 16 ohms, so it would do very well on onboard and with phone.

Yeah from what I know Sennheiser doesn't really make bass oriented headphones, though their headphones are great for acoustic music.

if you have an AMP you can get these awesome Beyerdynamic's for $165 http://www.amazon.com/Beyerdynamic-770-PRO-250-ohms/dp/B0006NL5SM/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

But if you don't you can try these Sennheisers that apparently have great bass

The first Senn is wireless if you like that aspect. They cost pretty much the same.

The 558 doesn't have that much bass, the 770/880/990 or COP are more of the basshead kind of headphones.

Yeah but he for sure needs an AMP for those

Custom One Pro doesn't and as I said earlier, you might be able to run the 80 ohms version of the 770's on onboard audio. but 880 and 990 are usually found in 250 ohm versions, where yes, OP will need an amp.

The custom one pro is almost $50 over budget though, and the others are way over budget. So that's not helpful unless he spends more than he initially wanted

actually, I just found the CHC Silverado's on sale, http://www.amazon.com/California-Headphone-Co-CHC-SILVERADO-Headphones/dp/B009F4BV8C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1388714518&sr=8-1&keywords=chc+silverado Not directly bass-head headphones, but very good in general, or so I've heard.

I own the dt770 80 ohm the ath m50 the vmoda crossfade and the audio technica ws55

a good cross section of the bassy market and I would rank both the audio technicas at the top because of the detail they give the dt770 80 ohm comes in second because I love the loose and low bass it has but it loses to the audio technicas because it lacks the mid range detail. and my newest headphone the vmoda.. I don't think I put in enough listening time on it I think I might sell it.... not sure.  but as it stands it is in last place.

edit and the dt770 80 ohm can be driven off your motherboard all day every day

I own a pair of CHC Silverados, and I <3 them... they have the perfect amount of bass for me and that is definitely more than my Sennheiser HD 558's...

Don't get me wrong though... I love my HD 558's as well :D but I use them for different things...

If you are looking for a base heavy pair of headphones though I'd totally recommend the CHC Silverados...

Can't expect much for 100$? I haven't cared to look into how they sound.

they do seem to appeal to the same audience though

Still better bass heavy options that don't feel like they might explode in too their cheaply made pieces though.

I.E. WS55.
