MOBO lights on but no boot

Digital

I just assembled my newly bought parts. However, when I power the PC on, the leds on my motherboard light up for like a second, then all power is off. Fans do not spin at all. What could be causing this?

Dead motherboard maybe? Could also be the CPU.

Please mention or quote me if you want a response. :)

Sounds like a cable is wrong somewhere or something is not mounted correctly.

Probably gaming or helping technophobes with tech...

How could I test this, I don't really have any other components on hand.

Well to mention, my case is Phanteks Evolv Shift (not X), and I have SFX-L power supply. Phanteks says it supports SFX-L but it DEFINETLY does not. I had to jam the power supply in there, all cables are bent 90 angles right from the connector.

EDIT: PSU is modular

Board potentially needs a BIOS update before it'll work.

If there's a RAM or CPU issue your board should tell you.

Probably gaming or helping technophobes with tech...

To see if the CPU has a good connection to the motherboard:

Take the CPU out of the motherboard socket. Look at the pins in the socket and check if any of the is bend. Then look at the contact pads on the CPU and check if any of them is damaged.

Okay this is retarded, I am retarded. The cable that plugs to my PSU in this case and routs the input to different place, wasn't properly seated. Jesus I am idiot.

Also, problem no. 2, the leds seem to be on even when the system is off, what gives?
