I have a Thinkstation S30 motherboard it has two 16x PCIe slots and supports SLI on certain quadros.

I've heard that crossfire will work on almost any motherboard. Is that true?/Can my motherboard run crossfire?

What GPU? Or do you already have 2 of the GPUs?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Completely waste of money, wouldn't bother unless the 2nd GPU is free or something.

motherboard probably supports it, but don't bother for real.

You don't even know what i'm using it for. I am planning on buying a 480 know and then another one in like 8-10 months or something.

Can anyone give me an explanation for this? Is there a techquickie on it?

That's still a complete waste of money unless it's ultra cheap/free.

Most games still will not properly support SLI/Crossfire. Which is why it's not worth it.

What's your current GPU? AMD is likely to just launch a Vega refresh or RX 680 soon enough which is a better choice than a polaris 10 card at that point.

Unless you're going to do some kind of rendering that actually uses 2 GPUs well.

Games don't really support xFire at all, and if you aren't playing games it's better to run them outside of xFire.

I will also be using them for rendering. The reviews I have seen show improvements in games that I play.

Is it really worth the price over just buying one, or buying something more powerful like the GTX 1080, Vega 56 or R9 Fury X?

I have looked into performance and cost. What I want to know is if it will even work.

According to my digging, no one has tried, and Lenovo doesn't officially support.
