LG's 2014 line of Smart TVs runs on the almost extinct webOS platform. @evleaks has gifted us with a better look at what webOS TVs from LG hold for us. The same will be unveiled during CES this year, which kicks off next week. Looking at the leaked image, the first thought that comes into your mind is "wow, that is some neat looking software on a TV." Based on a card themed flow style UI where the user flow between the various functions of the Smart TV, webOS run LG TVs have much promise.

i remember WebOS costing a lot to HP with tablet sales...

The biggest problem with the HP TouchPad was not WebOS. It was selling a "Premium" tablet at $500-600 that offered mininmal (if any) benefit over the iPad. It's taken years for even premium Android tablets to gain any traction. The TouchPad was also quite bulky and heavy with not that great of a battery.

WebOS is a decent mobile/tablet os, but back then, pretty much only Apple could market a premium tablet.

This makes me want to get a TV :o

you don't need a tv, you only need a 4k monitor and a good internet connection!

This ^ The price was way too overkill, the tablet itsalf was decent, WebOS was kinda good actually, but the price was not justified for what you were getting.

And I'm kinda exited to see WebOS coming back, and it looks nice!

WebOS is not bad for the LG TV. The UI looks pretty nice and clean. But hope they won't include any hidden tracking software with it.
