Copying Windows from one drive to another

So I have Windows installed on an SSD (Samsung 850 Evo 2.5”), but am going to be installing a Samsung 970 Evo M.2 into my Maximus Viii Hero soon and want to use the Samsung cloning software to copy over Windows and all my data.

 

Issue is, if I put in the M.2, it will disable the sata slot where my Windows drive is connected to. If I plug my Windows drive into another slot, will it still boot or does it have to be in slot 0? I may have to change boot priorities in the bios, but will it work?

you can mash f8 on start up and it should open a boot menu and then select the m.2 ssd. then wipe the other drive
