Hi Guys,

I have this build

Inwin infinity

Asus maximus X

I7-7800k coffeelake

32GB Corsair vengance DD4

GTX 1080 STRIX

Elgato HD60 pro

EVGA G2 850W

corsair hydro h100i v2

The CPU is at base clock speeds, yet my system idles in the high 30s and reaches in the 60s when playing games. What would you recommend to try to improve the temps?

Is there some imperative need to reduce your temperatures?

Both of these temperatures are perfectly fine. Realistically, without delidding, I don't expect that you'd see a drastic change in anything that you did.

if you're planning to overclock to 5Ghz or higher i would delid rather going for a custom loop

Specs: Ryzen 9800X3D 5425MHz - ASUS TUF RTX 4080 super - G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 64GB 6400MT/s CL26 -  Gigabyte X870 AORUS Elite Wifi7 ICE - Torrent Fractal Design white - EVGA 850W Supernova G2 80+ Gold - Noctua NH-U12A

Those temps are fine, a custom loop wont do much. Given the rad would be in the same spot and the case will still be limited airflow wise.

If you want better temps, you could turn down the voltage just a tad, increase fan speeds or delid.

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks for the replies guys ( sorry i took a while my RAM decided to die :( ) its more i bought the rig looking to overclock in the future but feel i dont have much room to do so. I was thinking about changing the three fans (one at the back and two on the cooler) as i heard the stock ones aren't so great, i also realized i have the H115i when i checked my old order :D

Do you think changing the fans could help and if so what to go for ?
