Need Serious Pc help lol

Go to solution Solved by DocSwag,

You don't really need a CPU upgrade. A 7700 wouldn't work with your mobo and would be a sidegrade at best, anyways. Just get yourself an SSD such as an MX500 and a good PSU to go with it. If you're on a budget, CX/CXM is a solid choice. If you're willing to pay a bit more, a focus, evga g1+/g2/g3, or rmx/rmi would be a good choice.

Okay so I have a Cyberpower pc Intel i5-8400 Radeon Rx580 with the stock fans just got it 3 weeks ago and am Ight so far but I wanna upgrade some of the things in it for example it doesn’t come with ssds just regular 1tb hard drive with 6 core processer if you want you can find my pc and help too my power supply watt is 500w and motherboard is a bazooka Msi b360 gaming plus.but I was wondering if it’s best for me to update the power core to a 800-100w and update the intel to I7-7700 and update graphics card to GTX 1080 could I do all of that and be straight with cpu or should I get a liquid or air cooler for it? I’m sorry I’m all over the place with these questions but I’m new to this lol! Just want to know what’s should I do that’s best. I have a 144hz monitor and play lots of battle royale games and FPS games and some story games then and there ! My pc will be posted in pics for you guys to be extra help thank you !

not sure what a "power core" is, or what 800-100W is supposed to mean, but what I can tell you is that the 7700 does not work with your motherboard. You can only upgrade to 8th series chips (and 9th when they come out, if you update your motherboard's BIOS.) You are on the right track with the idea of buying a better air cooler, an i7 will demand anything better than the stock intel cooler. The upgrade to the 1080 would also be suitable. I'm gonna assume the power core you referred to earlier is the power supply, in which case check out the PSU tier list on these forums, and I recommend anything higher than 700 watts. The tier list will indicate community discovered quality of said units.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Why did you buy an 800$ with the intention of spending 1000+$ on upgrades?

Ouch. This should become your top priority when exploring upgrades.

update the intel to I7-7700

i7 7700 will not work in a B360 board. If upgrading from the i5 8400 the logical choice would be the i7 8700.

On a locked CPU a liquid cooler is a waste of money. If you want an air cooler, a Cryorig H7 will do nicely.

Well I agree that the stock cooler on the CPU is crap, get a Hyper 212 EVO or anything larger than that as you won't see a noticeable difference below a 212 from a stock cooler. As for the GPU why do you want to change? If its toasty add more fans or add an aftermarket cooler.

Your i5 will work fine with a 1080. It has 6 cores so it can multitask a little, and the frequencies aren't really that bad. Even though a 7700 is an improvement, you're not exactly better off replacing the motherboard for it.

There's no point in having an 8700K on a B360 motherboard, as the chipset does not allow overclocking which the 8700K is designed to do. Go with the regular 8700.
