Need Serious Pc help lol

Go to solution Solved by DocSwag,

You don't really need a CPU upgrade. A 7700 wouldn't work with your mobo and would be a sidegrade at best, anyways. Just get yourself an SSD such as an MX500 and a good PSU to go with it. If you're on a budget, CX/CXM is a solid choice. If you're willing to pay a bit more, a focus, evga g1+/g2/g3, or rmx/rmi would be a good choice.

Christ the price for that 8700 is bad. Newegg has a much better price.

Also that Corsair AX760 is way overpriced for what you get with it. If you want a 750W PSU of similar quality, look into the EVGA 750 G2 or the Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 750.

New Build (The Compromise): CPU - i7 9700K @ 5.1Ghz Mobo - ASRock Z390 Taichi | RAM - 16GB G.SKILL TridentZ RGB 3200CL14 @ 3466 14-14-14-30 1T | GPU - ASUS Strix GTX 1080 TI | Cooler - Corsair h100i Pro | SSDs - 500 GB 960 EVO + 500 GB 850 EVO + 1TB MX300 | Case - Coolermaster H500 | PSUEVGA 850 P2 | Monitor - LG 32GK850G-B 144hz 1440p | OSWindows 10 Pro.

Peripherals - Corsair K70 Lux RGB | Corsair Scimitar RGB | Audio-technica ATH M50X + Antlion Modmic 5 |

CPU/GPU history: Athlon 6000+/HD4850 > i7 2600k/GTX 580, R9 390, R9 Fury > i7 7700K/R9 Fury, 1080TI > Ryzen 1700/1080TI > i7 9700K/1080TI.

Other tech: Surface Pro 4 (i5/128GB), Lenovo Ideapad Y510P w/ Kali, OnePlus 6T (8G/128G), PS4 Slim.

So your saying I don’t really need to upgrade to a i7-8700? But how can my i5 work with a gym 1080? Won’t my cpu go high ? Can you recommend me what Upgrades ylu think is best for me I’m looking for a new graphics card other then this rx580 and a air cooler because when running games like rainbow it gets up to 80degrees so tryna get that lower and a ssd card

WDYM CPU will go high? An 8400 is fine with a gtx 1080 unless you're at 1080p in a super cpu bound game.

If OP is fine with MIR you can get a 650w Focus+ Gold from Newegg for $70. Otherwise this is fine.

Solid SSD but that's way too much to pay for it. MX500 performs just as well and is cheaper.

Bruh you're wasting money. You don't need such an expensive PSU, plus it's overpriced anyways. Also you really don't need an 8700... An 8400 would be fine with a 1070. If you need a CPU upgrade you're better off waiting for 9th gen in a few months.
