Another Post About Whether Its Worth Buying an RTX 2080 ti

No, it isn't worth it.

Just lower the details a little if you need more fps, upgrading to any one rocking any thing from GTX 1070 Ti all the way to a TITAN Xp right now is not the best way around it.

You'll be spending a lot of money for a small performance gain thanks to much less efficient massive die and the promise that Ray Tracing is something revolutionary which hardly is the case in its stage.

You should really only bother next year when nVidia finally rolls out their 7nm GPUs which will be efficient again, with more power and an actual possible IPC gain on those CUDA Cores, not to mention the further maturing of whatever the whole Ray Tracing hype is about.

Why do you think nVidia released the 80 Ti together with the 80 this time? Because the performance is rather just polished and there isn't much of a selling point to all these people with a Pascal card or even older stuff like 980 Ti's, you don't need these cards over your GTX 1080 to play games at almost full candy high refresh rate yet.

My current setup is an 8700k with a cheap looking blower cooler GTX 1080 (link below) on a 1440p 165 hz Gsync panel.

I want to play Metro Exodus and Battlefield 5 with the best visual experience. I don't make a lot of money, but i can afford a RTX 2080 ti and I am willing to spend if its worth it.

Would anyone advise for or against selling my GTX 1080 and buy an RTX 2080 ti.
