EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti XC GAMING will it work w/ a Corsair SF600 PSU

A couple questions.  But first some background.  Sold my hybrid 1080 Ti at the beginning of the month so I could buy a new EVGA air card so I could have a card right away but also be eligible for step up when RTX was released.  I sold my card for $560 and got an EVGA GTX 1080 Ti iCX for $552 (after rebate) new but with a step up value of $650.  The cheapest EVGA card at the moment seems to be the 11G-P4-2382-KR at $1150 so if I am able to step up on 9/20 I will be paying $500 plus whatever shipping is.  In the meantime I was able to place a pre-order w/ Newegg for the 11G-P4-2382-KR for $1156 shipped.

 

So my first question is: will a RTX 2080 Ti (11G-P4-2382-KR) work with a Corsair SF600 PSU with a 8700K, EVGA 240 CLC AIO, 2 120MM slim Noctua fans, 1 92"mm slim Noctua fan, 2 M.2 NVME drives, 16GB DDR4 Ram, Z370N MOBO?  System is a SFF NCase M1 so PSU options are limited unless I got SFX-L but that would make it super cramped in there if not impossible. 

 

Second question would be: should I cancel my pre-order and just try step up?  If I kept my pre order there is no way I could get $650 for my current 1080 Ti so in the long run I would be paying more for a 2080 Ti.

 

I know I will get flack for this but should I keep my preorder and just try and sell it?  or do you think there will be no market for this?  Newegg is sold out, EVGA is not taking pre-orders at the moment or is sold out, and Nvidia site has their 2080 Ti with a delivery around 11/12/18 now.

Also, no i don't think that this powersupply will suffice...the new GPU is insanely big and will pull a shit load of power...i think that little PSU will get very hot and shut down personally.

From what I can see, the RTX 2080ti has the same tdp as the 1080ti

The next biggest SFX PSU that is long is the SILVERSTONE SST-SX650-G 650W, but that's only another $125 for 50 more watts.

For anyone w/ a SFF system and is considering the RTX 2080 Ti for a SFX 600 W PSU:

 

After plugging my theoretical system into https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator

An i7 8700K, 16GB DDR4 Ram, 2 M.2 NVME, 1 92MM fan, 2 120MM fan, keyboard/mouse, 32"+ screen, 1 USB 2.0 device, 240MM AIO, and the RTX 2080 Ti w/ no overclock the calculator says my peak load should be 466 W, recommend PSU wattage 516 W, recommended PSU efficiency  Bronze 80%.  The PSU they recommended was a EVGA 600 W 80+ Bronze, which leaves me to believe that the Corsair SF600 Gold should be good to go.  

 

If you plan on overclocking than maybe an extra 50 W with the Evermax or SILVERSTONE SST-SX650-G 650W (Both Gold) might be a better option.  

 

I forgot my 2 M.2 are NVME so that brings load wattage up to 495 W, recommend PSU wattage 545 W, with the recommend PSU still be 600 W bronze, with this slight increase I would say at stock this still should be fine but for overclocking a 650 W or going to a SFX-L that can do 700+ W might be better if it can fit

You should be fine with your current PSU, pretty much any single card config with remotely recent hardware needs 550W or so, even with decent overclocks (unless you go absolutely ham but considering you have an SFF PSU I doubt your case has the cooling potential for that), and I doubt they bumped up the TDP of the 2080 Ti that massively.

It's only a 260W card, you could get by on 600W with that. Probably even 550W.

You would be fine if you keep them at stock speed. 

 

The PSU you have is rated 600W on the 12v rail alone @40 degree so bear that in mind, you could run into some stability issues if you heat it up too much with the overclock..

Yeah I pre-ordered the EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti XC GAMING, 11G-P4-2382-KR and that is the 250W version for my Ncase M1 fir sizing concerns 

 

The fact that we are seeing a lot of triple fans designs could be heat related but and/or due to the fact that Nvidia launched a dual fan no blower style card, not wanting to be outdone in the same price range thus card members are making these massive 3 fan designs.  

 

Either way I do expect the 2080 Ti to be hotter but in an Ncase M1 I think it can be manageable however someone on Optimum Tech asked the same question as me but for a Dan Case.  That system I think will have a much harder time keeping case temps down since basically 90% of builds use air coolers and it can have one case fan at most anyways.

Yeah I am a little torn about waiting or not.  For one any RTX 2080 Ti is a lot of money but really it is the only card that might see decent performance increases via non ray tracing titles.  I got my order in through Newegg for an EVGA card since EVGA is my preferred brand and for $6 I have 3 day shipping and you aren't charged until it ships, hopefully going out on or before 9/20.  So why did I pre-order even with no benchmarks and a huge price?  Well I figure even if the card falls bellow expectation at the very least I can sell it for what I purchased it at if not more.  Or if I totally change my mind I can just sell the card since cards are either sold out or pre orders are ETA October even November now.  I checked this morning on EBAY and pre-order RTX 2080 Ti are being sold as high as $2000.  Do I think someone will buy it for $2000?  Probably not but living in NYC there are tons of rich and desperate people who could care less if the 2080 is only "x" times better than a GTX 1080 Ti and will pay anything to say they have it before anyone else.  

 

Not an Apple Fan (Youtube) makes the point that the 2080 Ti was really the only card that didn't take a step back spec wise barring the switch to DDR6, which is why in theory the 2080 Ti could be the only card that sees good increases, but hey also makes it clear that anyone paying $1200 for a graphics card is a moron lol

Well no data/benchmarks as of yet but tech radar who couldn't reveal a lot of info due to embargo found that a single RTX 2080 Ti at 4K was hitting 100+ FPS on Ultra.  They couldn't disclose what games, but I am sure they weren't playing MOBA games.  So I am pretty positive the RTX 2080 Ti will be the first real 4K card and really the only card at the moment we can say for sure that has the most traditional performance gains over Pascal.  On paper I am not sure you can say that about the 2070 or 2080...

I just read the article and they said a game was able to hit 60fps at 4K. Not 100+ FPS. It has new memory and more cuda cores so it better perform better. But I really wouldn't get your hopes up

It will work but I it's better to give it a breathing space. More or less your setup only takes 500w.

Well I am not getting my hopes but I think there is some confusion.  The 60 FPS was with the new Tomb Raider with Ray Tracing on at 1080P.  So yeah Ray Tracing for high pixel density and high refresh monitors is out of the question.  I should note that 100+ FPS at 4K was on "some" games which again they couldn't disclose.  So yeah benchmarks are still needed.  If GTA V hits 55 FPS on Ultra w/ a GTX 1080 Ti at 4K 60Hz, anything less than 80-100+ w/ the RTX is a bust IMO.

Considering high overclocked 980tis were on par with reference benchmarks for 1080s and they said they have been working on this for 10 years annnnd we have 4K 120hz monitors. I want to see 4K 120FPS for $1200

Sure and maybe we will.  Hard getting less for more money this gen but that might be the new normal which again sucks but who is going to check nvidia?  AMD?  Lol

Nah I don't believe it. If you take out all the RTG and tensorcores and just make a massive dye with stupid amounts of cuda cores SMUs and so on. Sure the yields will probably make it incredibly expensive but you could figure that out in 10 years time. Even if it used 400W I would rather have 50% more FPS than less but only a handful of games look better
