Ab350m pro4 or B450m pro4

Hey guys! I am going to buy a ryzen 3 2200g system and I checked the B450 motherboards out and it turned out that I can get the B450m pro4 for the same price in my local store as the Ab350m pro4, my question is:  What one should I get? and will the B450m pro4 have the same/better overclock abilities than the Ab350m pro4?

as I heard the Ab350m pro4 is really good for budget overclocking.

Ps: if there is a better budget b450 board, please also tell me as I can check if it's in my price range.

Thanks for reading! and Thanks for helping!

Get the b450m pro 4, it has more vrm heatsinks than the b350m pro4, so higher overclock capabilities, also no need to mess around with bios updates.

Look for MSI's B450 boards. Their B350s and X370s suck hard, but B450 and X470 ones are decent.

Wrong, their VRM parts are exactly the same.

Have you looked at the pictures, the b350m lacks soc vrm heatsinks (important for an apu), while b450 has it.

But i agree with you on the MSI b450 boards, i also like them more than the asrock ones.

oh my bad, for some reason showed me pictures of the abb350m. You are right.

Either way, i would recommend the ab450M Pro4 out of the 2, because it supports the 2200g out of the box and is newer.

asrock am4 pro4 boards use the same Piko mosfets that plagued MSI's B350 and X370 motherboards. Thankfully Asrock sold theirs at a very low price, give it somewhat reasonable heatsinks and good BIOS support (supporting high frequency memory is rare back then), but it's still cheaply made. If there's spare budget, dont use the Pro4.

What b450 board would you recommend for 3200mhz ram under $100?

so the Ab350m pro4 is better than the b450 pro4?

merely because AB350/AB350M Pro4 are both cheaper than b450/b450m pro4.

Yeah but I am also buying a bios update with it and that is 10 euro in the store I get it. And the b450 is only 10 euro more, I will look at the motherboards you suggested.

B450 Pro 4 for sure, the older 350 doesn't support the new gen AMD boost.

B450 because it runs out of the Box and you don't need to ask someone with an A-Series APU or a Ryzen 1000 to flash your BIOS to a version that Supports the 2200G.

And since its newer, you'd expect longer BIOS Support...

So getting it new, for the same price, it makes no sense to not prefer the 400 series over the older 300, even if the Chipset is practically the same and has no real differences...

And don't forget the PSU!
A good quality unit like the bequiet Pure Power 10 should also be considered!
