Biggest Mistake?

Supahh

I recently built a pc, with the pc I bought a GTX 1060 6GB.

At the time, I didn't know there were new gpus coming very soon, some are expected to even arrive in the next 1-2 months.

The 1180 / 1170 / 1160 will be released soon and many people are speculating that the 1160 would perform close to the 1080.

If this is the case, I might get a refund for my 1060 and replace it with a new 1160.

What would be the "estimated" price for a gpu like the 1160 based on previous nvidea experiences.

And is it worth replacing, or should I keep it the same?

Honestly keep what you got and enjoy it.When the time comes it won't play new games then replace it.The round of gpus we have no idea how they will run or cost so its all a guess right now,Even when they come out is a guess i have heard next month to 2019.

I believe I read a couple times the xx60 is estimated at 1080 performance and 399$. Granted it's a couple sites I read and this maybe wrong. I do believe it'll be close to a 1070ti/1080 though. If this is true it'll be a awesome ass midrange card for sure. The xx30 might be worth a damn unlike the 1030, feel bad for people wasting their money but you get junk when you try to penny pinch so...

I cannot in good faith recommend you to keep it, return the 1060, use a place holder card til the new cards come out.

The performance gap between the 10 series and 11 series looks to be huge, I've following the events leading up to the 11xx launch and i WOULD NOT buy a 10 series card right now (saw a 1070 on clearance for 250, nope)

well we still don't know when the 1160/2060 will come out and we don't the price(rumours say they will be more than current msrp)

Also depends where you live, like does you region instantly gets the new pc hardware ? are prices already overpriced in your country?

If it releases it will either get overprices or out of stock immediately,

so it depends if you really want the high end stuff and willing to risk the go for it, return it

Or game on GTX 1060 for now, when the next gen Nvidia GPU are out wait till the prices get stable, save up some money, sell your gtx 1060 and get the new next  gen card
