I know this isn't an option but I'm going to say an i7 3770.

Out of the two the 2600 is better though you should look at a 3770 as it has a nice bump in performance over the 2600.

If you look at user benchmark; http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-2600-vs-AMD-FX-8350/620vs1489

The i7 is purely better for gaming while the fx 8350 has more cores better for video editing, streaming, and future proofing.

Eh, I wouldn't say that FX is better for future proofing. It is marked as 8 core CPU, but it's kind of marketing trick, as it depends on what you call a core. Some people call it 8 CORE (as AMD marketed it), some people call it just a 4C/8T

How does that work? Just wondering I didn't do much research outside of the userbenchmark

Two cores in a bulldozer based CPU share a single FPU (floating point unit) which handles complex calculations. That's why the 6 core FX performs worse than the also 6 core Phenom II x6 which is an older CPU, both when clock speeds are matched and overclocked as much as possible with safe voltages under ambient cooling

CPU: i7-2600K 4751MHz 1.44V (software) --> 1.47V at the back of the socket Motherboard: Asrock Z77 Extreme4 (BCLK: 103.3MHz) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 RAM: Adata XPG 2x8GB DDR3 (XMP: 2133MHz 10-11-11-30 CR2, custom: 2203MHz 10-11-10-26 CR1 tRFC:230 tREFI:14000) GPU: Asus GTX 1070 Dual (Super Jetstream vbios, +70(2025-2088MHz)/+400(8.8Gbps)) SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB (main boot drive), Transcend SSD370 128GB PSU: Seasonic X-660 80+ Gold Case: Antec P110 Silent, 5 intakes 1 exhaust Monitor: AOC G2460PF 1080p 144Hz (150Hz max w/ DP, 121Hz max w/ HDMI) TN panel Keyboard: Logitech G610 Orion (Cherry MX Blue) with SteelSeries Apex M260 keycaps Mouse: BenQ Zowie FK1

What is better for gaming FX 8350 or i5 2500 or i7 2600

btw i have ddr3 8 gb i already have q6600 and i want upgrade

gpu: gtx msi 1050 oc 2gb

i want to play pubg all low settings 1080p

is i7 2600 can run 60 fps

Depends on the Game, in some its the FX8350, in some they are equal, in some its the 2600.

But what are you gonna pay and why not look for a newer system though lower end??

Because a Ryzen 2400G should be as good as the 2600 but cheaper.

And don't forget that we are talking about almost 10 year old stuff...

No, it is a core!

Proof: Look at x86 CPUs up to 80386 and the NX586!

The FPU is a different chip, so the Core is an Int unit. There is no room for discussion!

You can even argue with the 486SX...

It was only in the recent years that the FPU became part of the CPU but traditionally it was not.

So the first range from 8086 over 8088, 80186, 80188, 80286, 80386 and from the competition the NX586 didn't have an FPU integrated.

So to call the INT Excecution units a Core is a true statement. Because of this History.

Calling Bulldozer a 4 Core is the real lie because it is not as it has 8 Integer Excecution units! And there is A Reason why AMD called that thing a "module" and not a Core or part of that.

It is just a different approach to this.

That's bullshit.

You can do complex calculations with Integer as well.

You should really read up on that stuff, before spreading wrong information.

Facts:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integer

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Floating-point_arithmetic#Alternatives_to_floating-point_numbers

So it has nothing to do with the Calculations per se, it has everything to do with the numbers you use.

No, its not.

There are multiple reasons but that is not one of those.

One of the Reasons is that they still used the crappy K10 Northbridge, wich might be fine on a 3GHz Chip but not on a 4GHz one.

Another one is the rather slow L2 Cache.

And of course Bulldozer is very different to many modern systems so they need special operations.

To say that Bulldozer in general is slower than Phenom is not true.

The truth is that Bulldozer needs special treatment to show its teeth and that is why it can compete with haswell on some games that do it right.

The downside is that it falls behind when the compiler treats the Bulldozer CPU wrong.

And of course the shitty/slow caches that plagued AMD Chips for generations...
