Has anyone ever gotten an ad for something they've never searched before?

Recently i've been planning on building a new computer desk. I never considered buying one, since I'd like to build it myself. I figured i could save some money, make it nicer, and give it some more personality than a store-bought desk. Now, I'm getting amazon ads for desks popping up. Is jeff bezos omnipotent? As far as i recall, i didn't look up any tools since i have most of what i need, and a quick trip to home depot would take care of the rest. I definitely haven't shopped for desks online.

How does Jeff do it?

It's the lizard people man. Together with the government they faked 9/11 and caused the Wall Street crash. They're coming for us all!

Use the quote function when answering! Mark people directly if you want an answer from them!

It works well if you like it, but it’s a 2 edge sword. If the option to say not interested in products come up, you can tune the internet to work in your favor quite well for what you want to see. For instance my YouTube account hardly even shows me videos for channels I’m not subscribed to because I don’t click on them. It only shows me music for songs I clicked on or videos from like 3 channels. Because I sometimes one off search things & say not interested if something pertains to a one off search, I only get things I care about. Plus I have ad block.

However that also means google knows the few things I’m interested in & anything in my emails.
