Nintendo Switch on laptop display?

So I have an alienware 17r4 laptop which has usb-C, hdmi out, mini display, thunderbolt 3 ports and I just got a nintendo switch, I do not own any monitor or tv so is there any way besides a capture card to hook up my switch to the laptop screen. If my only option is getting a capture card, then what kind should I get, since the switch can only output 1080p30fps if I'm not mistaken, with the least amount of latency

Your only option would be a capture card. Though, you realize the switch has a screen right

Look in the manual or support sections on the Dell site for your laptop, see if it supports HDMI in. If it doesn't, just get a cheap $90 1080p IPS monitor, that'll probs be cheaper than and perform better than a capture card.

When I'm on the go the switch is awesome, but when I'm at home and not taking a dump I want to give my eyes a rest from the tiny screen. Any ideas what kind of capture card?

Many users seem to not understand video signal out and video signal in. Most laptops do not bother with video in. Just get a used monitor that displays a picture in 1080p. That will be easier for your mind and wallet than to configure up a capture card etc, drivers etc etc things might not work.

There are really decent monitors out there (new) and even better used.

Hope this helps!

PS I would love for laptops to have inputs on video signals one day... xD

You're going to take your switch, laptop and capture card into the bathroom with you?

I doubt your laptop supports HDMI-in, so generally no.

Getting a cheap 19" monitor is also going to be less expensive than a decent capture card.

I'm sure some do but in 2018 it's pretty hard to find! -_-
