Will the GTX 1160 be sold out instantly when it releases?

Indominus-Rex

Ok so I'm planning a PC build that i intend to complete by the year's end but I'm on a tight cash constraint and would like to know if the GTX 1160 will be sold out thanks to miners and patient people who have been waiting for these cards for a very long time. If yes, then i'll likely purchase the card instantly when it comes out but if no, then i'd rather wait for a sale like black friday or cyber monday to save a bunch.

Hang on, I'll just consult my crystal ball....

Seriously though more than likely yes they will but in reality no one knows until they launch.

Btw miners aren't buying nearly as many cards these days.

Well when you expect to buy a 1160?, I mean first a 1180 will came, then nvidia will look at amd, and till amd doesnt get a new cheap card ,nvidia wont cut his 1080 market to throw a 1160(like did with the 1080) ....

And dont worry about your card... only on mining fever was a shortage and you can allways make a reservation, I reserved the rx480 1 or 2 months before they came out , then a mail told me that I had the chance to purchase my reserve and that movement gave me better value for my rx480 than anytime (260 euros 8gb version , with vat 21% , so I bought it at 260$ more or less)

My point is , keep on this forum and when its for sure that they have just pre order a non founders version.

Case: Corsair 760T  |  Psu: Evga  650w p2 | Cpu-Cooler : Noctua Nh-d15 | Cpu : 8600k  | Gpu: Gygabyte 1070 g1 | Ram: 2x8gb Gskill Trident-Z 3000mhz |  Mobo : Aorus GA-Z370 Gaming K3 | Storage : Ocz 120gb sata ssd , sandisk 480gb ssd , wd 1gb hdd | Keyboard : Corsair k95 rgb plat. | Mouse : Razer deathadder elite | Monitor: Dell s2417DG (1440p 165hz gsync) & a crappy hp 24' ips 1080p | Audio: Schiit stack + Akg k712pro + Blue yeti.

I almost misread your post as "1180" instead of 1160.

We don't exactly know when it will be released, usually the demand will high at first since it's probably hyped from those who decides to "wait for new GPU" or just planning for an upgrade (hence potential sold out). Price is usually high too though they usually lower it in the future (also known as price skimming).

Waiting for Black Friday might not help it either, since price drops down dramatically.... More people (like a lot of them) are going to buy the GPU hence "sold out" again unless you're quick enough.

How did you make a reservation on an unreleased card? Also, where did you buy it from.

When its about to come (i've made with the fe of sapphire rx480) you can make a reservation on any computer store page, they have the product but only to make a reserve, (its easier with non fe because first had launched fe)

Like any videogame
