Posted December 31, 2013 Is watching 720p movies on a 1440p 27" monitor look not as good as watching it on 1080p 24" monitor? Nope, up scaling. Nashty. Oops I thought you meant 1080p on a 1080p monitor instead of 720p on a 1440p. I'm not quite sure about that then. If it works how I think it does.. I think it'd look better on 1440p because it doubles the pixels per inch as apposed to taking only 1.5 as much. Heaven's Society - Like Anime? Posted December 31, 2013 Bigger monitor means that you need bigger resolution for it to look the same. So yes it will look worse. EDIT: This might just apply if both are the same resolution so don't listen to me TorCorsair Obsidian 650D - Intel 4770K CPU - Gigabyte G1 Sniper 5 - ASUS GTX 780 Direct CU 2 - Kingston Beast Hyperx Beast 16 GB RAM - Corsair AX 1200i PSU - Samsung EVO drive 750 GB - Corsair AF series 120mm fans - Corsair H100i - Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2013 edition - Razer Ouroboros - Razer Manticor - Windows 7 - Beyerdynamic MMX
 Posted December 31, 2013 Is watching 720p movies on a 1440p 27" monitor look not as good as watching it on 1080p 24" monitor? It will look fine. 1440p is 4 times the resolution of 720p. Its the same as 1080p content on a 4k display. Each pixel can be quadrupled and it will look fine. 1080p content on the other hand will need to be scaled but it would look fine as well. Your gpu will probably be doing the scaling for the monitor so it should look fine. i7 4770k, 16GB Corsair Vengeance Gigabyte z87, Phanteks Enthoo Primo 7970
