Calling for all ASRock Motherboard owners

Go to solution Solved by Skiiwee29,

I use the Fan control for my all my system fans and water pump controls. I detest RGB so I have it all disabled and dont use it. For the Fans, you will need to set it up to TCTRL to properly read the CPU temp and adjust fans based on that.

Hello, if you have a asrock motherboard and 5min to spare, i will be grateful.

Im thinking about switching from Gigabyte to asrock due to i will get 5 fanheaders instead of 2, and more rgb headers too, also superiour vrm. (im thinking of asrock b450m pro)

But i use a lot of gigabyte fan control and rgb programs, due to how good they are (compared to asus, they never crash etc), and i want to know how good they are.

If you could download the ASROCK Fan control and the rgb program and screenshot them to me, that would be very nice.

The only images i found online look really outdated, and i really hope that the programs still dont look like that.

Important to me:

Able to switch fan speed on the fly no restart required.

Able to create custom curves, or choose rpm fixed modes.

Able to select temperature sensors.

The current gigabyte fan control program and the rgb one (look how good they look):

Eh... I don't think asrock will give you a comparable software experience...

i thought the same when i went from asus to gigabyte, and suprisingly gigabyte was miles ahead from asus.

You have an asrock am4 mobo, mind making a few screenshots?

I don't think I have seen any fan speed software from asrock when I bought the board last year but this was the software I saw for the RGB lighting( not my SS)

And the bios was quite lacking(in design and UI) compared to the Msi Z87-G43 board I used.

They have a pun in the program name? Not good. The software couldn't look more 2009.

Good to know, the picture you sent me scarred me for life. That looks like what a 9 year old would make for a rgb software, but the new one actually looks manageable.

I dont have any problems with the software. It works well for me at controlling my fans and pump. The BIOS has the same PUNNY name for the Fan tuning.

have you had any crashes, weird windows bugs because of the software?

Because if not then the software looks usable, just a little dated.

Can you choose between 3 and 4 pin for the fan headers?

Zero crashes of the software. On my board, the X370 Taichi I have all 5 fan headers show up, but all of mine are 4 pin.

Can you choose in bios/software for each header if it is a dc/pwm?

Truthfully I cant remember. Ive always used either Speedfan when it worked, or the Asrock A-Tuning utility

Speedfan is very very hit or miss right now. Last time it was updated was in June 2016, a year before Ryzen so it generally doesnt work anymore. I use to use it to control my case fans based on my GPU temps when I had a water cooled CPU, but still air cooled GPU. Now I am 100% water cooled so I really have no need for it and any BIOS revision for my board beyond 3.20 doesnt support Speedfan anymore.
