TKL or Normal KB for College Student

I need some recommendations. My oem keyboard is crapping out after years of abuse and neglect. I am looking for a TKL or full keyboard with either programmable rgb or non-flashy backlighting (preferably white or green). 

 

Likes: removable usb cord, nonflashy backlighting (if rgb is programmable, that is fine), and low noise keys.

 

Dislikes: macro keys, hardcore gamer look, loud keys (cherry blue or even red) and large formfactor.

 

Non-necessity: mechanical keys. I am happy with either mechanical, scissor, or membrane switches/keys.

 

I am a college student with a small wallet, and I am a gamer but not hardcore. This will see lots of papers and internet. If a cover can be purchased that would be a plus as sometimes I need to look up parts for mowers, my truck, etc and my hands can be dirty.

I've got a Corsair K63, it's a TKL, I dont find it too loud, if you're looking for cheap and quiet, LTT did some videos a while back where they bought KB's for under $20 from amazon.

If you want my recommendation I recommend the MF87, or the MF108. (the 108 is just a full-size version of the 87)

Also, you will find that you probably want the numpad while in school. There will be one class out of the blue that will want you to use excel for something.

Personally I recently got myself the Sharkoon Pure Writer. It uses Kailh mechanical switches. I purchased to versions red and blue switches. I liked both but sticked with the blues. It sounds like you'd want to go for the red ones.

+ No macro keys

+ Good build quality and overall very simple but elegant design

I'd get the Cooler master Tenkeyless small mech Brown rgb keyboard. It has a removable cable and isn't flashy at all. But there is a new MK 851 coming out that has USB C as the removable cable rather then a micro usb cable as the one listed above has.

Its $120 US now but you can get it for cheaper. Just wait for a deal on it to come to Amazon they do happen often on it. You could look into the custom niche mech keyboard market. But I couldn't get into as much as others so I found the closest thing to getting a custom rgb mech brown keyboard by buying the Pro S RGB keyboard. Thats what I did if you can really get into researching the best custom keyboard than go for it. I just couldn't, Good luck mate!

Yeah, also don't go buying those cheap keyboards like the anne pro or the ones listen above. There is more to a keyboard than switch type and lighting type. Most cheap keyboard have very very bad stabilizers that will drive you nuts (on the space bar and some enter keys)

the logitech g pro is pretty good, you can turn off the rgb and it wont look like a crazy gamerish kind of keyboard.

Well all was well and I planned to buy the K63 wireless and switch out the LEDs myself. However, my dog just got bit by another snake (this make snake bite number 3). After the vet bills I will not be buying anything else for a while. Thanks for the help everyone!
