RX 570 vs GTX 1050Ti

emerald_piggy

I have $170 saved up so I can buy a gpu. But I was wondering which is better a new 1050ti or a used rx 570? or should I save a little extra and go with a 570 8gb or an rx 580 4gb?

Rx 570 is on par with the 1060 3GB.

I suggest you save up for an RX 580 8GB as 4GB of Vram is on the edge of its lifespan. And 3GB on the 1060 3GB is too little in todays games

Look for RX 580 in both memory configurations and tell us the price. If they cost much more, than just get the 570 4gb. Comtrary to what others say, I think 4GB VRAM is already enough for a card meant for 1080p high settings. Sure even higher settings will need more VRAM, but you'll run out of compute power from the GPU in the case anyway. Dont need more VRAM.

From what ive heard other experience is that 4GB is not enough in all titles. Currently i believe there are a handful of titles going beyond 4GB.

I havent seen that myself, aside from console ports with bad optimization. We call them poorly optimized for a reason.

the rx 580 4gb used is about $190 or $180 if you can get lucky or $230 new. The rx 580 8gb is $215 used, $200 if you win an auction or $270 new.

How many games are there that require 8gb ram and can be run decently with a 570?

What resolution do you play on and what's the rest of your specs ?

Generally speaking a 8gb would be a better resell

AMD 5900x, 2x16GB ( G.skill F4-3600C16 ), Radeon VII, Radeon 570,  Corsair 1200i , SSD 240/500GB, HDD 640GB,1TB,5TB, 1TB NVME. Lian li 011Dyanmic XL, big ass LTT mouse-pad & stealth water bottle

RX 580 4GB will be my choice. Maybe new ones instead since used cards is likely to be used for crypto mining (i.e. on full blast 24/7 for months, albeit with reduced power limits so not as fast as it could have been)

8GB cards are very likely to be mined, definitely no.
